GLACIER HIKING AROUND VAL-D'ISERE

You would like to move on from hiking paths to the realm of high mountains: glacier hiking is the perfect introduction to the high altitude milieu and will enable you to discover the unique ambience of glaciers.
Your guide will be there to introduce you to the techniques required for safe and efficient use of crampons and ice axes; he will manage all safety aspects and share his knowledge of this amazing environment with you.
Little by little you will discover the equipment and the technical manœuvres you need to master in order to progress safely across the glacier. We are able to propose one-day initiation outings in the Vanoise area that do not involve any particular technical difficulties.
For the ultimate experience, glacier hiking takes on a whole new dimension with an overnight stay in a mountain hut.

There are numerous tours and climbs to choose from in the Vanoise area and, of course, in the other mountain ranges across the Alps.

There is no « small » achievement in the mountains, every climb, regardless of the difficulty, is a unique experience to be lived and shared. Sunrise, as you prepare to depart in the glow of your headlamp, the rhythmic clicking of the karabiners as you advance, the crunching of your crampons biting into snow hardened by the chill night air, the pure delight of looking out from the summit at an unsurpassable view of the mountains, the contentment of arriving back down in the valley after a perfect day, mountaineering can’t be beaten.

Whatever your desires or your level, the skill and experience of your guide will enable him to ensure your safety and to provide you with the means of surpassing yourself, whether during a one-day outing or with a longer immersion course with nights spent in mountain huts or bivouacs.
